At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. They practice and learn skills by filling a role, ranging from giving a prepared speech to serving as timer, general/specific evaluator, “ah” counter or grammarian. The assessment is always focused on positive aspects and encourages participants to involve actively in Club’s activities. Each meeting is held in English and gives participants an opportunity to improve valuable skills like: planning and conducting meetings, effectively develop and presenting ideas, giving impromptu speeches on assigned topics, presenting prepared speeches and offering constructive evaluation. Upon joining a Toastmasters club, each new member receives a variety of manuals and resources on how to become a better speaker and a more confident leader. Members also have access to other educational resources and receive The Toastmasters, a monthly magazine that offers the latest insights on speaking and leadership techniques.
